Microchipping

OH NO!!! My pet ran away!!

Has this ever happened to you or someone you know? One out of every 3 pets will go missing at some point in their lifetime and without identification, 90% will never return home. Microchipping is a safe and effective way to give your pet the best chance of returning home. So you say "My cat never goes outside" or "I have invisible fencing". Never say never. Pets can sneak out open doors and windows and when scared some pets will run through invisible fencing systems. Microchipping is a very simple procedure, much like a vaccine. A syringe and needle are used to place a small device (about the size of a grain of rice) coded with a number under the pet's skin usually between the shoulder blades. Once placed the microchip can be read with a microchip scanner. Most shleters and vet clinics have microchip scanners. A microchip is one of few permanent identification devices. The chip won't fade or fall off and get lost.  Also a bonus for Pa residents is once your dog is microchipped you can lifetime license them. Protect your pets with  microchip identification.
